Policy.

When you use My Lease Equity, we collect:

• Email address, so we can send you the report link and any updates you request.
• Vehicle information: VIN, mileage, ZIP code, condition, and any options you tell us about.
• Lease document and extracted terms: if you upload a PDF or image, we send it to Google Gemini for one extraction pass, then store only the structured fields (lessor, payoff, residual, fees, etc.) in your session.
• Payment information: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We retain only the Stripe payment ID and the report tier you purchased.
• Audit events: we log when reports are generated, documents are extracted, and data is deleted, so we can answer "what happened with my session?" if asked.

We don't collect:

• Social Security Numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account numbers.
• Anything outside what you explicitly enter or upload.
• Browsing activity on other sites or third-party cookies for advertising.

If your uploaded lease document contains an SSN or account-like identifier, we redact it from the extraction payload before sending it for AI processing.

We use the data you provide to:

• Run the equity calculation and generate your report.
• Email you the report link and receipt.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Respond to support requests.
• Detect fraud and abuse.

We never use your individual lease or vehicle data to train external AI models on your behalf.

We do not share your information with dealers or marketers unless you explicitly opt in on a separate screen designed for that purpose. Free check + paid report = zero dealer touchpoint.

We do share limited data with third-party service providers strictly to deliver the Service:

• Google Gemini, your uploaded lease document is sent for one-time extraction, governed by Google's API terms. We do not authorize Gemini to retain or train on your document.
• MarketCheck, we send your VIN and ZIP to look up comparable listings and a market value prediction.
• NHTSA, your VIN is sent to the public vehicle decoding API. NHTSA is a US government agency.
• Stripe, payment processing. Stripe collects card data directly; we receive only a payment confirmation.
• Resend, used to deliver contact-form emails.

Different categories of data have different retention windows:

• Uploaded lease documents: auto-delete after extraction unless you choose otherwise. Default is delete.
• Extracted lease terms and vehicle info: stored as long as your report is active (90 days after purchase).
• Reports: accessible for 90 days after purchase, after which the URL is invalidated.
• Audit logs: 12 months.
• Payment records: as required by US tax law (7 years for financial records).

You can:

• Delete your data from the current browser session at any time, see the form at the bottom of this page.
• Request a full deletion across all sessions by emailing tj.ellion@gmail.com. We will delete within 30 days, except records we are required by law to retain (payment records).
• Request a copy of the data we have about you (right of access).
• Correct inaccurate data by re-running the report with updated inputs.
• Opt out of dealer sharing, this is the default. You have to explicitly opt in for sharing to happen.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including HTTPS for all transit, encrypted storage at rest for documents and audit logs, and access controls on the operator side. No internet service is 100% secure, but we treat lease documents and contact info as sensitive and act accordingly.

If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours by the email on file.

My Lease Equity is not intended for users under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact tj.ellion@gmail.com and we will delete it.

My Lease Equity is operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date above reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be posted here. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
